List of grape varieties

Luglienga Bianca is a white wine variety . It is an autochthonous variety from northern Italy. Many of the alternative names allude to the early ripening of the berries from the end of July.

According to Victor Pulliat, the variety came to France from northern Italy in the 14th century.

The variety was used in particular to breed new early-ripening grape varieties. To cross the Regner grape variety , Georg Scheu named the Lignan Blanc grape variety in addition to the Gamay hâtif des Vosges . The original information provided by Scheu has since been refuted by DNA analysis.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is hairy white, greenish with a slightly pink tinge. The reddish, blistered young leaves are only hairy like a cobweb.
  • The small to medium-sized leaves (see also the leaf shape article ) are light green, five-lobed and deeply cupped. The stem bay is lyren- or U-shaped open. The leaf margin is serrated to a point. The teeth are small compared to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is blistered and rough.
  • The cylindrical to conical grape is small to medium-sized and has dense berries. The slightly elongated berries are large and pale yellow in color. Despite the thin berry skin, the grapes can be transported well and the berries can be stored in cold rooms.

Ripeness: early, ripens a few days before the Gutedel

properties

It is susceptible to the fungal diseases powdery mildew and downy mildew .
