Luigi Capotosti

Cardinal Luigi Capotosti (born February 23, 1863 in Monte Giberto , Marken , † February 16, 1938 in Rome ) was an Italian clergyman, bishop of Modigliana and later cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Luigi Capotosti received his theological and philosophical training in the seminary of Fermo . He received the sacrament of ordination in 1885 and then worked as personal secretary to the Archbishop of Fermo, official and cathedral canon .

Pope Pius X appointed him Bishop of Modigliana in April 1908. The episcopal ordination donated to him on May 31 of the same year Carlo Castelli OSC , Archbishop of Fermo ; Co- consecrators were Raimundo Daffei , Bishop of Forlì , and Luigi Boschi , Bishop of Ripatransone . On June 8, 1914, Secretary of Luigi Capotosti of Pius X Congregation for the order of the sacraments ordered. Pope Benedict XV appointed him titular archbishop of Thermae Basilicae in 1915 . Pope Pius XI accepted him on June 21, 1926 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Pietro in Vincoli in the college of cardinals . On July 29, 1931, he appointed Cardinal Capotosti as Pro-Datar of the Apostolic Datarie , and on September 23, 1933, he was appointed as Datar.

Luigi Capotosti died on February 16, 1938 after several operations in Rome and was buried in the Campo Verano cemetery.
