Aloisius Palazzolo ( Italian Luigi Maria Palazzolo ) (born December 10, 1827 in Bergamo , Italy , † June 15, 1886 in Bergamo) was a founder of the order and is a blessed of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Luigi Maria Palazzolo studied after his schooling Catholic theology and devoted himself after his ordination, especially the youth ministry .

In 1872 he founded the Congregation of the Brothers of the Holy Family. Their activity consisted of helping and training needy orphans, and the members of the order also devoted themselves to pastoral care for young people. This institution was dissolved in 1928 and became part of the Congregation of the Holy Family of Bergamo . While the congregation of Sisters of the Poor, founded by him and Teresa Gabrieli , continues to operate.

Over the years, the Catholic Action in the Diocese of Bergamo emerged from an evening school that he set up . Pope John XXIII beatified Aloisius Palazzolo on March 19, 1963. In the subsequent canonization process on November 28, 2019 , Pope Francis recognized a miracle attributed to his intercession as the final prerequisite for canonization.
