Luis Alfonso Márquez Molina CIM (born December 17, 1936 in Tovar ) is a Venezuelan clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Mérida .

Life

Luis Alfonso Márquez Molina joined the religious order of the Congregation of Jesus and Mary and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Mérida and titular bishop of Turris Rotunda on October 18, 2001 . The Archbishop of Mérida, Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo , donated him episcopal ordination on January 12 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Antonio José López Castillo , Archbishop of Calabozo , and Manuel Felipe Díaz Sánchez , Bishop of Carúpano .

On July 15, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
