Luis Alfredo Carvajal Rosales (born October 17, 1913 in Ibarra , † April 25, 2003 ) was Bishop of Portoviejo .

Life

Luis Alfredo Carvajal Rosales was ordained a priest on July 4, 1937 .

Pius XII. appointed him on July 28, 1955 auxiliary bishop in Portoviejo and titular bishop of Coptus . The apostolic nuncio in Ecuador , Opilio Rossi , consecrated him bishop on October 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Leonidas Eduardo Proaño Villalba , Bishop of Riobamba , and Silvio Luis Haro Alvear , Bishop of Ibarra .

He attended the first and fourth session of the Second Vatican Council . Paul VI appointed him on August 20, 1963 Coadjutor Bishop of Portoviejo. After Nicanor Carlos Gavinales Chamorros retired , he succeeded him on February 17, 1967 as Bishop of Portoviejo. On August 6, 1989, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
