Luis Andreoni
Luigi Andreoni , also known as Luis Andreoni , (born October 7, 1853 in Vercelli , Italy , † May 20, 1936 in Montevideo ) was an Italian engineer and architect .
Life
After completing his training in Turin and Naples in 1875, he came to Montevideo a year later via Brazil. Under his leadership, among other things, created Ospedale Italiano Umberto I called Italian Hospital of Montevideo, the building of the Club Uruguay , the Banco Ingles , which on the street corner Uruguay and Andes located Palacio Buxareo (now the headquarters of the French Embassy), the Teatro Stella d ' Italia , the main train station in Montevideo , which opened on July 15, 1897 , the Banco Español or Casa Vaeza , which is now the headquarters of the Partido Nacional . He died on May 20, 1936 in the house he built near the Hospital Italiano .
