Luis Volpi , full name Luis Tomás Volpi , (born December 5, 1920 in Artigas ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

Offensive player Volpi, who was used on the left wing position, was at the beginning of his career from 1939 to 1941 in the squad Nacional Montevideos in the Primera División . In 1939 , 1940 and 1941 , Nacional won the Uruguayan Championship. In 1942, 1944 and 1945 he played for the Montevideo Wanderers . In the 1946/47 season he completed four league games (no goal) at the Italian club Inter Milan . From 1946 to 1954 he was again a member of Nacional Montevideo. The "Bolsos" were again Uruguayan champions in 1946 , 1947 , 1950 and 1952 .

National team

Volpi was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed twelve international matches from July 18, 1940 until his last assignment on February 8, 1946. He scored an international goal. He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the South American Championship in 1946 . He also took part with Uruguay at the Copa Hector Gomez and the Copa Mignaburu 1940, the Copa Newton in 1942 and the Copa Río Branco in 1946.
