Lukas Beck (born December 9, 1967 in Vienna ) is an Austrian photographer .

Life

Lukas Beck studied ethnology at the University of Vienna.

His work specializes in music and theater and has been shown in Vienna's Leopold Museum , the Westlicht photo gallery and the Palais Coburg . Beck is the author of various illustrated books and has photographed CD covers and posters. He has photographed for many Austrian media as well as foreign ones such as Die Zeit or The New York Times .

Beck's main theme is people and their peculiarities. He has portrayed the musicians Willi Resetarits , Hans Söllner , the actors Dennis Hopper , Christopher Lee , Johanna Wokalek , the opera singers Elīna Garanča and Edita Gruberová , the crime novelist Wolf Haas and the politician Mohamed ElBaradei . Beck has been leading the photography course for the Ö1 Summer Academy since 2003.
