Lukas Karlsson (born May 21, 1982 in Nyköping ) is a Swedish handball player .

Career

Lukas Karlsson played in his home country first for IFK Nyköping and then until 2007 for Hammarby IF HF . From there moved to the Danish Håndboldligaen to Viborg HK . From 2008, the 1.80 meter tall and 82 kilogram heavy backcourt player was under contract with KIF Kolding , with whom he won the Danish championship in 2014 and 2015 and the trophy in 2014. Karlsson played with Hammarby, Viborg and Kolding in the EHF Champions League and the EHF Cup . In summer 2016 he moved to Ribe-Esbjerg HH . From the 2017/18 season, Karlsson will also work as an assistant coach at Ribe-Esbjerg. He has been playing for the Norwegian first division club Bækkelagets SK since the 2019/20 season .

Lukas Karlsson made 93 international appearances for the Swedish national team , in which he scored 173 goals.

Karlsson is married to the Norwegian handball player Ida Bjørndalen .
