In the 2011/12 season he came to his first National League A game , again in addition to several assignments with the GCK Lions, when he was loaned for two games to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers : In the game on February 24, 2012 against the He was substituted on at half of the game for EV Zug and received three goals.

On the 2012/13 season, Meili moved to the Kloten Flyers to replace their previous substitute goalkeeper Michael Flückiger . After Meili was nominated as a substitute in the first four games of the season, he came on the fifth match day on September 25, 2012 for his first use for the Flyers. At the same time, this was the first NLA game that he played through completely. In the 3-2 defeat after shootout against HC Lugano , he received two goals. Lukas Meili was considered by the Flyers as a potential successor to the then regular goalkeeper Ronnie Rüeger . In total, Meili had eleven appearances in the NLA by the end of the season in April 2013, but saw no more prospects after the Flyers signed Martin Gerber and received approval. At the same time, Robert Mayer , who had signed a contract with EHC Biel , asked for it to be terminated. The EHC Biel then signed Lukas Meili to replace Mayer for two years. In Biel, Meili was a regular goalkeeper at times, but received no contract extension after the 2015/16 season. He then trained with EHC Visp , which signed him for two months at the end of September 2016.
