Lukas Pohland
Lukas Pohland (born August 25, 2004 in Schwerte ) is a German student who is considered an expert in cyber-bullying and who, as a victim, has been invited to talk shows or hearings of political bodies several times.
Life and commitment
Pohland was twelve when some of his classmates started bullying him online for helping a female cyberbullying victim in his class. At the time he was a junior high school student in Schwerte . The cyberbullying against Pohland only stopped when the female victim of bullying, whom he was helping, switched to another school. In June 2017, with the help of a psychologist, Pohland founded the Cybermobbing-Hilfe eV association, where young people affected by cyberbullying can call children and young people affected by cyberbullying once a week on Wednesdays for advice. A total of 10 people are involved in the hotline.
In April 2018 he was invited to the expert hearing in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He also played the supporting role of the student and victim of bullying Carsten in the short film It gets better , which deals with the subject of cyberbullying and was shown at several film festivals.
In 2017, together with friends, he founded the local internet news portal meinschwerte.de.
At the beginning of November 2018 he presented his cyberbullying experiences and his association Cybermobbing-Hilfe eV on ZDFinfo .
In February 2019, he was a talk guest on the show Campus on Deutschlandfunk on the topic of marginalized and attacked: How to deal with bullying in schools? invited.
In February 2019, he was also appointed as a member of the jury for the advancement award on cyberbullying at the Help and Hope Foundation .
In July 2019, on the occasion of the award of the Ansbach University Education Prize to Lena Meyer-Landrut for her work against bullying and hate comments on the Internet, the Eurovision representative of the ARD, Thomas Schreiber , and Pohland gave a laudation . In September 2019, Pohland and Stephanie zu Guttenberg were guests on the NDR Talk Show hosted by Barbara Schöneberger and Hubertus Meyer-Burckhard .
At the beginning of February 2020, Lukas Pohland was a guest on the talk show So Gesehen - Talk am Sonntag of the Evangelical Church in Germany on Sat.1 . At the beginning of March 2020, Pohland and journalist Gilda Sahebi were a talk guest in a YouTube video for Bayerischer Rundfunk on the topic of “Hater! What should I do? ”On the YouTuber Firas Alshater's YouTube channel Zukar . In mid-March 2020 he shared his experiences on cyberbullying and the support and advice of cyberbullying victims in the bildundtonfabrik production "Docupy" for WDR .
In February 2020, he was invited as an expert to a school workshop on cyberbullying, the Cyberbullying Project Day organized by O2 in Düsseldorf . Another event in Berlin , Young + Restless: Digital Heroes Against Cyberbullying , which should take place in March 2020 and in which he should participate as an expert, was postponed to August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany .
