Luke Pickering (born August 4, 1993 in Queenstown ) is a New Zealand ice hockey player who has been playing for Southern Stampede in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League again since 2016 .

Career

Luke Pickering began his career as a hockey player with Southern Stampede , for which he made his debut in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League in 2009 . After he was runner- up with the team from his hometown Queenstown in 2009 and 2011, he moved to the Dunedin Thunder with whom he finished third in 2012. He returned to Queenstown in 2016 and became New Zealand champion with Southern Stampede that same year.

International

In the junior division, Pickering took part in the U18 World Championships in Division III in 2009 and 2010 and in Division II in 2011 as well as in the U20 World Championships in Division III in 2012 .

For the men's national team he played for the first time at the 2014 World Cup in Division II.
