Lukjanivska Prison
The Lukjaniwska Prison ( Ukrainian Лук'янівська в'язниця ; Russian Лукьяновская тюрьма / Lukjanowskaja tjurma ) is a prison in the Kiev district of Shevchenko , between the metro station named after him and the television tower of the same name . Today it serves as a remand prison . The Lukjaniwska was built and in the years 1859 to 1862 in 1863 first documented. She stood in the Soviet Union until its absorption into the Ministry of Interior of the State Political Directorate (GPU) and saw throughout its history a number of prominent personalities.
