San Isidro de Lules , or simply Lules , is the capital of the Lules Department in the Tucumán Province in northwestern Argentina . The municipality (Municipio) has an area of ​​163 km², lies at an altitude of 490 meters and has 21,088 inhabitants (2010, INDEC ). San Isidro de Lules is located 20 kilometers south of the provincial capital San Miguel de Tucumán . The traffic connection is via the Ruta Provincial 301 and Ruta Provincial 38 (Autopista) until it merges with the Ruta Provincial 301 .

The priest also laid out the map of San Isidro de Lules and determined the location of Plaza Central, the church and his own house.
