The Lung Clinic Grosshansdorf GmbH until 2012 Hospital Großhansdorf is a national specialist clinic for diseases of the lungs and airways.

Departments

The LungenClinic Grosshansdorf, which is located near Hamburg and has existed since 1900, with a care contract for the federal states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein treats 12,000 inpatients and outpatients annually. It has 182 beds , of which 89 are listed in the Hamburg hospital plan and 93 in the Schleswig-Holstein hospital plan . The clinic focuses on pulmonology , oncology and thoracic surgery supported by anesthesia and radiology . It has numerous diagnostic and therapeutic facilities for the treatment of lung diseases. These include palliative care , endoscopy , intensive care, cardiology , pulmonary function laboratory , sleep laboratory , physiotherapy , ultrasound and a clinical laboratory.

In 2012, the LungenClinic became the first clinic in northern Germany to be awarded the title of lung cancer center by the German Cancer Society . It is also a weaning center certified by the German Society for Pneumology , a Competence Center for Thoracic Surgery certified by the German Society for Thoracic Surgery and DIN EN ISO 9001 certified.

Research and Teaching

The LungenClinic is involved in research and teaching. It is an academic teaching hospital at the University of Lübeck . Together with partners - such as the Pneumological Research Institute located on campus - she conducts clinical studies to research improved treatment methods. In addition, the LungenClinic is a founding member of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) within the Airway Research Center North (ARCN ) network . The LungenClinic is one of the first Training Centers in Respiratory Medicine in Europe to be recognized by the European Respiratory Society (ERS).

Organizational form

The LungenClinic is a non-profit organization. It is run by Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord .
