Luo Gan
Luo Gan ( Chinese 罗干 ; * 1935 in Jinan / Shandong ) is a Chinese politician. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China from 2002 to 2007 .
Luo Gan was the oldest on the Politburo Standing Committee. He is considered a follower of Li Peng , as his right-hand man he campaigned for the crackdown on the democracy movement in 1989 . Commentators suggest that his entry on the Standing Committee was due to Li Peng's desire to prevent a reassessment of the 1989 events.
