Luo Jianming

Luo Jianming ( Chinese  羅建明  /  罗建明 , Pinyin Luó Jiànmíng ; born November 6, 1969 in Foshan , Guangdong Province ) is a former Chinese weightlifter . He was a medalist at the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Career

Luo Jianming started lifting weights at Nanhai Sports School in 1982 . Because of his good progress, he was inducted into the Guangdong provincial selection in 1985 and in the Chinese national weightlifting team in 1989.

In 1989, at the Junior World Championship in Fort Lauderdale / Florida, his first use at an international championship. He started there in the bantamweight and finished with a duel of 267.5 kg (122.5-145) 3rd place behind the South Korean Chun Byung-kwan , 275 kg (120-155) and Albert Nasibulin from the Soviet Union , who on 270 kg (120–155) came. In the snatch he was junior world champion with 122.5 kg .

In 1990, Luo Jianming took 3rd place at the Asian Games in Beijing in bantamweight behind Chun Byung-kwan and his compatriot Liu Shoubin . He took the same place at the 1990 World Cup in Budapest . There he had to start in featherweight for team tactical reasons. His performance in Budapest was 287.5 kg (130–157.5). World champion was Nikolaj Peschalow from Bulgaria , who came to 297.5 kg (127.5-170) before Kim Yong-Su from North Korea , who achieved 295 kg (135-160).

At the 1991 World Cup in Donaueschingen , Luo Jianming was back in the bantamweight division. He reached there in a duel 277.5 kg (130-147.5) and occupied with this performance behind Chun Byung-kwan , 295 kg (130-165) and Liu Shoubin , 292.5 kg (135-157.5) again 3rd place.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , Luo Jianming completed his last appearance in an international championship. As in all previous championships, he also managed in Barcelona in bantamweight with 277.5 kg (125–152.5) ​​third place and thus won the Olympic bronze medal . Only his old competitors Chun Byung-kwan with 287.5 kg (132.5-155) and Liu Shoubin , 277.5 kg (130-147.5) placed before him .
