Lutbert von Langen

Lutbert von Langen (* in the 13th century; † September 4, 1326 ) was canon and cathedral dean in Münster .

Life

Lutbert von Langen came from the Westphalian noble family von Langen and was the son of Hermann von Langen zu Langen and his wife Jutta von Holte. His brother Ludolf was canon in Münster from 1311 to 1335. Lutbert was first mentioned in a document on June 29, 1294 as a canon of Münster. He received the cathedral mechanic in 1301. As cathedral dean, he concluded an alliance against Bishop Otto , who was deposed on October 3, 1306 by Archbishop Heinrich of Cologne , with some cathedral capitulars , including cathedral chaplain Wikbold von Lohn and Canon Ekbert von Bentheim . On August 15, 1309, Lutbert was appointed to the council of the government of the monastery by Bishop Konrad von Berg . On March 7, 1311, Lutbert received permission from the Pope to jointly own both the cathedral mechanic and the provost office of St. Martini in Münster . The income from this did not exceed 50 silver marks. He was also archdeacon of Bocholt and Oelde and owner of the Holthausen office .
