Ludolf (also Ludolph) Joseph Theodor von Langen (born June 15, 1803 in Langenschwalbach , † October 9, 1872 in Wiesbaden ) was a Nassau official and member of the first chamber of the estates of the Duchy of Nassau .

Ludolf von Langen, who was a Catholic denomination, was the son of Eltville's city ​​director Heinrich Hermann Joseph von Langen (born August 18, 1773 in St. Goar ; † October 23, 1843 in Eltville) and his wife Barbara Therese nee Verflassen. The paternal grandfather was the Hesse-Rhineland chancellery director and court councilor Ludof Theodor Jospep von Langen . The maternal grandfather was the merchant Jakob Verflassen.

Ludolf von Langen married Maria Josepha Walburga, nee Freiin von Hausen, widowed Edele von Söhlern (born February 15, 1804 in Langenschwalbach, † December 3, 1895 in Wiesbaden), daughter of the Electorate of Mainz chamberlain and hunter captain , on June 15, 1828 in Nastätten Karl Heinrich Freiherr von Hausen and his wife Antoinette née von Sohlern.

Life

Ludolf von Langen studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn Law . In 1821 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania Bonn . In 1824 he passed the exam. 1824–1825 he was an official advisor in the office of Nastätten , 1826–1829 in the office of Eltville , 1829–1831 in the office of Königstein and 1831–1832 in the office of Höchst . From 1832 to 1932 he was official secretary in Höchst and from 1834 to 1840 in the office of Dillenburg . 1840–1843 he was bailiff (who was both the head of administration and the judge in the district) in the Wallmerod office and 1843–1845 in the Montabaur office . After the March Revolution , the offices were abolished and district offices were created. Ludolf von Langen became district administrator (i.e. head of administration) in the Limburg district office . With the victory of the reaction , the offices in Nassau arose again and Ludolf von Langen was from 1853–1864 the judicial officer in the Königstein office. 1846–1866 he was a member of the Chamber of Accounts in Wiesbaden, and from 1866 a member of the board of directors at the Landesbank . In the same year he was promoted to the secret government council and retired in 1868.
