Lutz Ackermann (sculptor)
Lutz Ackermann (born April 27, 1941 in Sindelfingen ) is a German sculptor .
Life
Ackermann completed an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker from 1955 to 1958 and was then an intern in the design / stylistics department at S. Werner in Stuttgart until 1960. Since 1964 he has worked as a freelance graphic and industrial designer and now works exclusively as a sculptor.
In 1972, Ackermann bought a station keeper's house in Gäufelden -Nebringen. Since 1973 he has been making works in steel, wood and stone. The artist has presented solo and group exhibitions since 1979. From 1986 onwards, Ackermann expanded the railway guard's house with studio and grounds into a total work of art called “Kunst-Kraft-Werk” (KKW).
He received working grants from the cities of Budduso ( Sardinia ), Győr ( Hungary ) and was a symposium participant in Lanzarote with César Manrique .
In 2002 he received the “Forum Region Stuttgart” cultural award. This served the establishment of the Lutz-Ackermann-Foundation, which receives the "Kunst-Kraft-Werk".
