Lutz Schelhorn

Lutz Schelhorn (* 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a German photographer . He is also president of the Stuttgart Hells Angels .

Life

Schelhorn grew up in Stuttgart as the son of an engineer. After secondary school , he did an apprenticeship as a car mechanic . At the end of the 1970s, he joined the Hammers of Hell Club, which began establishing connections with the Hells Angels in 1978 and opened the second charter in Germany in 1981.

In 2003 he decided to give up his previous job and became a photographer with his own studio in Stuttgart. His photo projects include the series The Chemistry of Memories , which includes pictures of the Stuttgart North train station . These are intended to commemorate the deportations at the time of National Socialism . For the photo project Stuttgart from below , a documentary about the homeless in Stuttgart, he received the Caritas Stuttgart Solidarity Prize .

Lutz Schelhorn has published two illustrated books with his work. The first illustrated book with the title Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. One to 21 from 2010 was created together with Petra von Olschowski and documents the old Stuttgart main station before work on Stuttgart 21 began . The second illustrated book deals with the Hells Angels Germany and is entitled The Last Warriors - German Hells Angels in focus .

Schelhorn's work can also be seen in various publications. He took photos for various biker magazines such as Bikers News or tattoo magazines , but also for Stern , Focus Online and the Stuttgarter Zeitung .

On January 22nd, 2014, the documentary A Hells Angel among Brothers with and about Lutz Schelhorn premiered at the Max-Ophüls-Filmfestival in Saarbrücken.
