Lutz Steinbrück

Lutz Steinbrück (* 1972 in Bremen ) is a German poet , musician and journalist .

life and work

Lutz Steinbrück grew up in Bremen and Delmenhorst. He studied English and German in Oldenburg . His master's thesis on Vechta in the poetry of Rolf Dieter Brinkmann was published under the title Fremde Heimat . He began with creative writing as a songwriter for bands in which he worked as a singer and guitarist. He also got his first poems. Lutz Steinbrück's poems have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies, in the prominent poetry line portals Poetenladen and Fixpoetry, and he has given a large number of readings. So far, three individual volumes of his poems have been published. Lutz Steinbrück has lived and worked as a journalist for print and online media in Berlin since 2004. He published articles a. a. in the Frankfurter Rundschau , in the taz and in the Tagesspiegel . As a singer and giraffe player he performed with the band Nördliche Gärten from 2007 to 2011 , who played German-language indie rock (and according to Ox-Fanzine student rock ) and released two EPs with Baumschulenweg (2007) and Nördliche Gärten (2009). From 2013 to 2019 he played in the band neustadt , which released the EP Zwischenzeiten (2014) and the album Distanzen (2019 via recordJet ). He has been part of the Lutzilla duo since 2020. He also appears as a solo artist under his own name. In summer 2019 his first solo album was released on Bandcamp under the title Self Portraits .
