Lycium Ruthenicum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Lycium ruthenicum is a shrub that reaches heights of 0.5 to 2 m. It is armed with slender thorns. The leaves are 7 to 30 mm long and 0.5 to 1.5 mm wide, they are very narrow, obverse-lanceolate and somewhat fleshy.
The hermaphrodite flowers are five-fold with a double flower envelope . The calyx is 3 to 4 mm long and divided into two lips. The crown is 8 to 10 mm long and narrowly funnel-shaped. At the base it is whitish in color, towards the top it is purple. The corolla lobes have a length of 2 to 3 mm. The stamens stand out over the crown, the stamens are hairy downy at the base.
The fruit is a black berry (black goji berry).
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Occurrence
Lycium ruthenicum is native to Central and Southwest Asia , but also occurs in Europe in western Kazakhstan .
Systematics
The first publication of Lycium ruthenicum was by Johan Andreas Murray .
Molecular biological studies confirm a strongly supported clade , which, in addition to Lycium ruthenicum, consists of the common wolfberry ( Lycium barbarum ) and the Chinese wolfberry ( Lycium chinense ). However, the relationship of the three species to other ancient world species has not been clearly established.
