Lynden David Hall

Lynden David Hall (born  May 7, 1974 in Wandsworth , London , †  February 14, 2006 there ) was a British singer and songwriter .

life and career

Lynden Hall was a representative of classical soul and thus next to singers like Smokey Robinson , Marvin Gaye , Al Green and Curtis Mayfield as well as younger performers like Maxwell and D'Angelo .

Hall released three albums. His musical talent was honored with the Best Newcomer Award ( MOBO Awards 1998) , among others . After that, alongside artists such as Beverley Knight and Dina Carroll, he was considered the great soul hope of Great Britain - a status he never got beyond. His most successful song, Sexy Cinderella , climbed to number 17 in the English charts in 1998 and reached number 74 in Germany in 1999. In the romantic comedy film Actually… Love (2003) he sings All You Need Is Love by the Beatles .

Hall died at the age of 31 of complications from Hodgkin's disease .
