Lynel Darcy Kitambala (born October 26, 1988 in Creil , France ) is a French football player with Congolese roots who has been under contract with the Portuguese second division club SC Farense since February 2019 .
Career
Kitambala made the jump from AJ Auxerre's B-Team to the professional field in 2008. There he played eight games. For the 2009/10 season he was loaned to the French second division club FCO Dijon and played a successful season in which he came to 34 missions and scored 13 goals. During the 2010 summer transfer period, it was rumored that Sevilla FC , Fiorentina and SC Freiburg were interested in signing Lynel Kitambala. However, AJ Auxerre coach Jean Fernandez declined all offers regarding Kitambala; this therefore remained under contract with the French first division club for another season . Since August 2011 he has been under contract with the French record champions AS Saint-Étienne . At the end of August 2012, he was loaned to the German second division team Dynamo Dresden for the 2012/13 season, but the club did not take out a contractually secured purchase option after the loan deal expired. For the 2013/14 season he was loaned from Saint-Étienne to the French second division club AJ Auxerre. From 2014 to 2015 the striker was under contract with the Belgian club Sporting Charleroi .
This was followed by other positions at Levski Sofia , RU Saint-Gilloise , Apollon Smyrnis and FK Senica . Kitambala has been playing for SC Farense in the Portuguese Segunda League since February 28, 2019 .
Private
Kitambala is married and has had a daughter since September 2012. His father was also a soccer player.
