Lynley Hannen

Lynley Joye Hannen , after marriage Coventry , (born August 27, 1964 in Dunedin ) is a former New Zealand rower .

1.75 m tall Lynley Hannen trained at the Hamilton Rowing Club .

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , Nicola Payne and Lynley Hannen competed in twos without a helmsman . In the first run they took second place behind Kerstin Spittler and Katrin Schröder from the GDR. With a victory in the repechage race, the two New Zealanders qualified for the final. There the Romanians Rodica Arba and Olga Homeghi won ahead of the Bulgarians Radka Stojanowa and Lalka Berberowa . Behind them, Payne and Hannen won the bronze medal in front of the boat from the GDR.

The following year, Payne and Hannen finished sixth at the 1989 World Championships . In 1990, at the 1990 World Championships , Hannen took sixth place in the four without a helmsman . With the eighth , she rowed to fourth place. In 1991 in Vienna she finished eighth with the eighth.
