Lynn "Buck" Compton (born December 31, 1921 , † February 25, 2012 ) was an American lawyer and officer. He was the chief prosecutor in the trial of Sirhan Sirhan in the Robert F. Kennedy murder case . Buck Compton was portrayed in the series Band of Brothers by Neal McDonough .

Life

Compton studied at the University of California, Los Angeles , where he played successfully on the baseball team.

Lynn Compton served in the Reserve Officer Training Corps under Cadet Commander John Singlaub and in 1943 transferred to the Easy Company (2nd Battalion, 506th Paratrooper Regiment, 101st Airborne Division ). He was wounded during Operation Market Garden and returned to the Easy a month later. Compton went with them to the Battle of the Bulge . On January 3, 1945, he was taken to an emergency hospital because of a foot burn and was withdrawn from the front on January 9, 1945. In the summer of 1945 he returned to the Easy a second time.

After the war

After the war, Compton first worked as a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department , later he became a prosecutor and represented a. a. the charges against Sirhan Sirhan in the Robert Kennedy murder case.

Private

Compton married after the war and had two children. On May 6, 2008, he published his memoir.
