Méabh De Búrca (born August 11, 1988 in Galway ) is an Irish football player .

Career

society

The midfielder began her career at Killanin FC and moved to Salthill Devon FC in 2000. After moving to Salthill, she gained her first experience in the adult sector in her first season at the age of 18. In 2007 she was appointed to the Galway Ladies for the first time and won the FAI Senior Women's Cup. In spring 2009 De Búrca left Ireland and went to the USA to study. During her studies she played for the Chargers, the soccer team at the University of New Haven . In her senior year at the University of New Haven, she played 13 casual games for the Boston Aztec in the Women's Premier Soccer League . On February 2, 2012, she announced her move to Norway to Amazon Grimstad FK .

National team

De Búrca played over 30 international junior matches for the U-17 and U-19 of Ireland. During her time in the Irish U-19, she was a long-time team captain . She made her international A debut in September 2006, in a 1–0 loss to the Italian national women's soccer team at Richmond Park . A year later she played as a student at the National University of Ireland, Galway at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok .

Personal

De Búrca did her Masters in Sport Management in autumn 2011 .
