The Mönchsberg is 528.7 m above sea level. NHN high, wooded mountain in the west of the Spalter hill country in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . It is one of the highest elevations in the Haundorf Forest .

location
The wooded Mönchsberg rises in the north of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district near the border with the Ansbach district . To the south the Mönchberggraben flows past, which feeds the Georgenthal pond and rises from the Pechhütten springs. To the east are Oberhöhberg and Unterhöhberg . To the east lies the Höhberg and to the north the Hintere Mönchsberg . To the north of the mountain is the northernmost point of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district.

The Mönchsberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Franconian Keuper-Lias-Land (No. 11), in the main unit Middle Franconian Basin (113) and in the subunit Spalter Hügelland (113.4) to the natural area of the Southern Spalter Hügelland (113.40).
