The Höhberg is 534.4  m above sea level. NHN high, wooded mountain in the Haundorfer Forest on the edge of the Spalter hill country in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

location

The elevation is in the Franconian Lake District , halfway between Haundorf and Mitteleschenbach , about eight kilometers as the crow flies northeast of Gunzenhausen . Not far west of the summit is the hamlet of Oberhöhberg , further west at the foot of the mountain is the hamlet of Unterhöhberg . The mountain peaks of the Mönchsberg and the Hinteren Mönchsberg are close to the mountain . The district road WUG 23 passes west of the summit . The Höhberg is located in the middle of the Haundorfer Forest , part of the Mönchswald region , one of the largest contiguous forest areas in the Free State of Bavaria . To the north there is an abandoned circular rampart from early medieval times .
