The Mühlbach - also outdated Walser Bach - is an artificially created right Mühlkanal of the Saalach in the municipality of Wals-Siezenheim in Salzburg .

course

The Mühlbach goes off to the right immediately above the Saalach weir in the west of the Walser village of Käferheim and flows parallel to the river at a distance of less than one kilometer in mostly northeast to north-northeast directions.

It first crosses Käferheim, then separates the villages of Grünau on the left from Wals on the right, then it is the border between the largely wooded Saalachau on the river side and the village of Walserfeld on the far river. In this section a branch branches off to the left, which flows roughly north on the edge of the floodplain to Siezenheim and at the river bridge from Siezenheim to Hausmoning over on the Bavarian side of the river flows back into the Saalach.

The other branch crosses Siezenheim and then passes Kleßheim Castle , then turns left and straight back to the river at the edge of the associated golf course. He goes through a 300 meter long section on which he can commute in a wild river-like snake between two 50 meters parallel field paths. Shortly thereafter, after a run of about eight kilometers from the right, it flows back into the Saalach, a few meters before the Saalbach , an estuary branch of the Hammerauer Mühlbach, converging on the opposite side .
