Mühlbachtal (Taufers)

The Mühlbachtal , also Mühlbacher Tal or Mühlbach for short , is an orographically left side valley of Taufers in South Tyrol . Administratively it belongs entirely to the municipality of Gais . It branches off towards the northeast at the main town of the municipality and leads into the Rieserferner group. It is drained by the Mühlbach , which flows into the Ahr . On its south-facing slopes, it offers space for the village of Mühlbach at an altitude of around 1500 m . Above it begins the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park , which encompasses the majority of the Mühlbach Valley. The valley head is dominated by several high peaks, among which the Große Windschar ( 3041 m ) with the Bramstaller ( 2559 m ) in front , the Morgenkofel ( 3073 m ) and the Wasserkopf ( 3135 m ) are the most famous.
