The Mühlenbach is a right tributary of the Ostbach in the city of Herne in the Ruhr area .
course
The source of the Mühlenbach is located on the western flank of the Gysenberg in the Gysenberg Forest on the southern border between Herne and Bochum , below the Heiermann farm it is set in masonry. The Mühlenbach was never straightened and has an almost natural course on the edge of the forest and in damp meadows. After about 980 m the Mühlenbach flows into the Ostbach coming from the Bochum Volkspark. The name of the Mühlenbach refers to the feeding of some former mill ponds shortly after the water of the creek has merged with that of the east creek.
