The first 480 meters of the stream have overturned. Initially, it is mainly directed to the northwest before it passes under Ettenhausen on a northeast course. Shortly afterwards it comes to the surface for the first time and is at the same time accompanied by a forest edge. It overcomes two waterfalls and takes on the Töbelibach from the right . The edge of the forest spreads out here to a wider forest strip, which connects to the Kyburg state forest in the north.
It changes its course to the northwest and reaches the Mülitobel , which is still around 40 meters deep here. He now overcomes several waterfalls, the highest of which is 12 meters high. The ravine reaches its deepest point here with a depth of around 110 meters. It now turns again to the northeast, where the Weidtobelbach flows towards it from the right from the Weidtobel . history
The river and valley were named after a mill that stood at the mouth of the Mülitobelbach in the Middle Ages. Later a barn, stables and in 1645 a house called Sennschürhof followed, after which a forest road and a hallway are still named today. The farm belonged to Kyburg Castle and mainly supplied the bailiff with dairy products and meat. It was quite large for the time, 21 meters long and 11 meters wide. In 1827, the Sennschürhof was abolished by a decision of the Domain Department of the Canton of Zurich, as it was hoped for higher income from wood production.
