Mütiilation (from mutilation French and English 'mutilation') was a French black metal band.
history
The band was formed in 1991 as one of the first French black metal bands. The only member is Willy "Meyhna'ch" Roussel. In the early 1990s she was a member of the black metal association Les Légions Noires . After a few demo tapes, the 1995 Mütiilation debut album Vampires of Black Imperial Blood was released . In 1996 Meyhna'ch is said to have been expelled from the Légions Noires due to drug problems , which disbanded around this time, including the bands represented; Mütiilation was also put on hold.
In 1999 Meyhna'ch revived the project and released the album Remains of a Ruined, Dead, Cursed Soul . Here the style of the band evolved into a depressive, dark, monotonous direction. This development continued on the other albums. The music has now received some positive approval. Mütiilation has had some influence on the black metal scene. Among other things, Malefic of Xasthur Mütiilation stated as one of the bands by which he was influenced.
Tours with Impiety , Abigail , Decayed and Tsjuder , Watain and Judas Iscariot followed . Meyhna'ch was supported on live performances by members Noktu, Fureiss and Astrelya of the band Celestia for drums, bass and double guitars. On December 7th, 2009, Meyhna'ch announced that it would end Mütiilation.
