The ČEZ stadium is a closed ice rink in Kladno, Czech Republic . It is the home ground of since 2019 back in the Extraliga playing ice hockey team Rytíři Kladno . The arena can accommodate up to 5,200 spectators.
Before the artificial ice stadium was built, ice hockey was played on frozen ponds. The artificial ice stadium was opened in 1949 and was covered in 1958. Four games of the placement round of the 1959 Ice Hockey World Championship were played in the stadium, which was named Městský zimní stadium .
In 2001 and 2002 the stadium was renovated, with the stands, the cooling system and the sanitary facilities being renewed.
HC Kladno had the highest average attendance in the 1995/96 season , when an average of 4,608 spectators followed the club's home games. Another ice rink, which is used for training purposes, is part of the building complex.
In 2012 the hall was renamed the ČEZ stadium . Until another renovation in 2014, the ice rink had a capacity of 8,600 spectators (with 1,600 seats). Since then, by converting standing to seating, the maximum capacity has been 5200 spectators, of which 3700 are seated.
