The M 8 is a trunk road in Belarus . It leads from the Russian border at Newel in a southerly direction via Vitebsk , Orsha , Mahiljou and Homel to the Ukrainian border at Chernihiv . It is part of the European route 95 , which leads from Saint Petersburg via Kiev to Odessa . In the Soviet trunk road network, this route had the designation M 20 .
