The MG Q-Type or MG QA was a racing car that MG manufactured in 1934. The chassis was based on that of the K3 Magnette , but was narrower and had the axles of the NA / NE Magnette . The engine had the block of the PA / PB Midget , but a different crankshaft for a displacement of 746 cm³, whereby the stroke was reduced from 83 mm to 71 mm. There was also a sprint version, the output of which reached 146 bhp (107 kW), which corresponds to a specific output of almost 200 hp / ltr. corresponded. At that time, this was the highest specific power output of an engine anywhere in the world.

Probably only eight copies were made (Sedgewick speaks of nine) because the cars were very expensive at £ 550–650 and the rigid axles had difficulty coping with the engine power. The single-seater version achieved a lap speed of 195 km / h in Brooklands with George Harvey-Noble as the driver , the two-seater still 192 km / h.
