Małgorzata Sobańska

Małgorzata Sobańska (born April 25, 1969 in Poznan ) is a Polish long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

In the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , she was fourth. Earlier this year she had already won the London Marathon . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , she was eleventh. In 1998 she won the Cologne Marathon , and in 1999 she was third in the Nagano and fourth in the Berlin Marathon . In 2001 she finished second in the Boston Marathon and set the current Polish record as fourth in the Chicago Marathon with 2:26:08. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , she finished 17th. In 2005 she finished second in the Hamburg Marathon , and in 2006 she won the Vancouver and Toronto Waterfront Marathons .

In 2007 she took second place in the Prague Marathon , the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and the Istanbul Marathon .

In 2008 she improved the course record at the Warsaw Marathon to 2:31:20.
