Machacmarca (also: Machac Marca ) was a town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Machacmarca was the central place of the canton Machacmarca in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Vinto in the province of Quillacollo . The village is a scattered settlement and is located at an altitude of 2727 m on the western edge of the plain of Cochabamba . Since the census of 2012, it is no longer listed as an independent town, but part of the city of Vinto .

The climate in the plateau of Cochabamba is a subtropical high altitude climate, which is characterized more by fluctuations in precipitation than by temperature differences over the course of the year (see Cochabamba climate diagram).

Machacmarca is located 24 kilometers west of Cochabamba, the capital of the department.
From Cochabamba, the capital of the department, the paved highway Ruta 4 leads thirteen kilometers west to Quillacollo and another four kilometers to Vinto . From there, a country road branches off in a north-westerly direction from Route 4 , which takes you to Machacmarca after a further seven kilometers.
