Maciej Szewczyk (born May 12, 1994 in Meppen , Germany ) is a Polish football player . He plays in defense primarily as a left-back and is under contract with Blau-Weiß Mintard.

Career

society

Szewczyk was born in Meppen , where his father was an active player. In the summer of 2000 he went to Poland with his family . In his father's hometown he started playing football at BKS Bolesławiec. From 2008 Szewczyk played in the youth of the German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern . For the second half of the 2010/11 season he moved to FSV 1920 Offenbach. After half a year Szewczyk switched to the youth team at Alemannia Aachen . In the U-19 Bundesliga he played 37 games for Aachen and scored one goal. In the summer of 2012, Szewczyk was appointed to the extended first team squad. First he was on September 9, 2012 for the first time in the squad of the second team in the game against FC Hennef 05 (2: 3), but was not used. Six days later he played his first professional game in the 3rd soccer league when he came on for Kai Schwertfeger in the 89th minute at the home game against SpVgg Unterhaching (1: 3) . On February 17, 2013, he made his debut in the second team in the home game against SC Brühl 06/45 (2: 1).

In January 2014, he moved to league rivals Bytovia Bytów , in the third Polish division . In the 2013/2014 season he rose to the first division (second Polish division). On August 2, 2014 Maciej made his debut with Bytovia in the first division against Wisla Plock (3: 2). Szewczyk was under contract with Bytovia Bytów until October 2015.

From October 2015 to March 2016 he was without a club. On March 30, 2016, he signed a contract with the Polish 3rd division club Nadwislan Gora. Here he was under contract until the end of the 2015/2016 season.

After the contract expired, Szewczyk moved to the 3rd football league (Poland) (4th league) at Widzew Łódź in July 2016 .

He returned to Germany for the 2017/18 season and joined the league club VfB Speldorf . During the 2018/19 winter break, Szewczyk moved to the Essen district league club Blau-Weiß Mintard .

National team

In February 2013, Maciej Szewczyk was invited for the first time to a course for the U-19 youth team of the Polish Football Association . Szewczyk made his international debut against Georgia on March 22, 2013. The U-19 of Poland defeated the Georgian selection 3-1. Another comparison followed two days later, which was won 3-0.

Private

Maciej Szewczyk is the son of the former Polish professional soccer player Zbigniew Szewczyk , who won the Polish championship with Zagłębie Lubin in 1991 and was under contract in Germany with SV Meppen and Tennis Borussia Berlin . His brother Thomas Szewczyk is a professional basketball player at FC Schalke 04 Basketball.
