Madeleine Cobb

Madeleine Cobb ( Violet Madeleine Cobb , née Weston ; born July 3, 1940 in London ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1958, she won bronze over 100 yards and gold with the English team in the 4-by-110-yard relay at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff . At the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm she was fourth over 100 m and won silver with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she was eliminated over 100 m in the preliminary run.

In 1969 she won bronze over 50 m at the European Indoor Games in Belgrade and was eighth over 200 m at the European Championships in Athens . At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 , she won silver in the English 4 x 100 meter relay, and at the 1971 European Championship in Helsinki she came in sixth with the British 4 x 100 meter relay.

In 1958 she was English champion over 100 yards and in 1969 and 1972 English indoor champion over 60 m .
