Madelyn Pugh

Madelyn Pugh (born March 15, 1921 in Indianapolis , Indiana , † April 20, 2011 in Los Angeles , California ), by marriage also Madelyn Martin and Madelyn Davis , was an American screenwriter and television producer .

Life

Pugh graduated in 1942 her journalism -Studies at Indiana University and started her career as a writer for CBS Radio . There she met Bob Carroll Jr. , with whom she worked until his death in 2007. They first wrote for Lucille Ball on the radio series My Favorite Husband . When the highly successful radio series was later adapted into a television series with Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz , Pugh and Carroll were involved in the conception. Between 1951 and 1957 there were 157 episodes of the series; Pugh and Carroll participated in all episodes. They have received three Emmy nominations for their scripts . After the series ended, both of them went to the following productions Oops Lucy! , Here's Lucy and Life with Lucy involved.

Between 1977 and 1981, Pugh and Carroll produced the Golden Globe- winning sitcom Takeaway and a Bite starring Linda Lavin .

Pugh was married for a second time. The first marriage with television producer Quinn Martin had a child.
