The Madina Demba Forest Park is a forest area in the West African state of Gambia .
topography
The approximately 6.7 by 4.5 kilometers large area of the tree savannah and is located in the Central River Region , in the District of Fulladu West . It is located south of the South Bank Road , Gambia's main trunk road , on the section between the towns of Janjanbureh and Bansang . The 2,373 hectare Madina Demba Forest Park is about ten kilometers after Janjanbureh and eight kilometers from Bansang.
In the dry season , the tree population is regularly threatened by bush fires .
There are a large number of warthogs ( Phacochoerus africanus ) in the park, but they are very shy.
