Fulladu West (spelling variant: Fuladu West ) is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative division - in the West African state of Gambia . It is one of ten districts in the Central River Region .
According to a calculation from 2013 about 82,513 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 71,669.
The name is derived from Fulladu , a former small empire.

According to a survey from 1993 (census at the time), the largest population group is the Fula with a share of around four-tenths, followed by the Mandinka and the Wolof. The distribution in detail: 31.5% Mandinka , 37.9% Fula , 17.7% Wolof , 0.8% Jola , 9.9% Serahule , 0.5% Serer , 0.1% Aku , 0.2 % Manjago , 0.6% Bambara and 0.8% other ethnic groups.
