Janjanbureh (spelling variant: Jajanburay ) is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative division - in the West African state of Gambia . It is one of ten districts in the Central River Region .
According to a calculation from 2013, there are around 3998 inhabitants, the result of the last published census from 2003 was 3466.

population
According to a survey from 1993 (census at the time), the Mandinka represented the largest population group with a share of around five-tenths, followed by the Fula and the Jola. The distribution in detail: 49.7% Mandinka , 25.8% Fula , 4.6% Wolof , 5.5% Jola , 1.8% Serahule , 1.2% Serer , 0.5% Aku , 3% Manjago , 1.5% Bambara and 6.4% other races.
