Madonna and Child in Diou

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Church of St-Cyr-Ste-Juliette in Diou , a French commune in the Allier department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region , was created in the 17th century. In 1975 the baroque sculpture was classified as a monument historique .

The wooden sculpture is simply waxed. The baby Jesus is sitting on the left arm of Mary , who is holding a scepter in her right hand.
