Madonna and Child in Yzeure

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Church of St-Pierre in Yzeure , a French commune in the Allier department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region , was created in the 15th century. In 1918 the Gothic sculpture was classified as a Monument historique .

The approximately 1.80 meters high sculpture of stone is colored in focus . The baby Jesus sits on Mary's right arm and touches his mother's right breast with her left hand. Mary's left hand is missing, the heads of the two people have been replaced.
