Madonna and Child in Rocles

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the church of St-Saturnin in Rocles , a French commune in the Allier department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region , was created at the end of the 13th century. In 1907 the Gothic sculpture was classified as a Monument historique .

The 80 cm high sculpture made of wood is only waxed. The baby Jesus sits on Mary's left arm .
