The Mae-hyōga Rock ( Japanese 前 氷河 岩 Mae-hyōga-iwa , Norwegian Ytre Brenabben , translated on both sides as Outer Glacier Rock ) is a nunatak on the Prince Harald Coast in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 5 km northwest of Oku-hyōga Rock on the eastern flank of the Shirase Glacier .
Aerial photographs and measurements of a Japanese Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1957 to 1962, as a result of which the naming was made, were used for mapping. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Japanese designation in 1968 in a partial translation into English.
